Seeing that I’ve moved to State College, PA from West Chester I thought it would be fun to share why I am excited to be back in Happy Valley. Here are 5 things I love about State College…
- Penn State University
I’m the third generation of my family to attend Penn State, so blue and white is in my blood. My top three memories that happened on campus would be, beginning my relationship with God in the HUB Student Union Building, watching Billy Joel and Elton John play at the Bryce Jordan Center and camping out all week with my friend’s to get first row tickets for Joe Paterno’s 400th win.
State College is amazing in the fall when the trees change colors. There’s an abundance of cool places to hike and explore. Nothing beats hammocking and reading a good book after hiking Mount Nittany or Shingletown Gap.
- The Creamery AND Myers Dairy Ice Cream
Who needs an explanation for great ice cream? If you don’t know what I’m talking about come visit, I’d love to introduce you to the best ice cream you’ll ever have.
- The Waffle Shop
If you’re looking for your classic breakfast joint, The Waffle Shop is a local staple. Every bible study, book club and business meeting happens here. Looking forward to many morning meetings taking place in this favorite.
- Festivals and Fairs
State College/Centre County is home to festivals and fairs that satisfy every interest under the sun. Some of the main events include the Grange Fair, Arts Festival and Fourth of July Fireworks. I’m a fan of all of them as long as they sell funnel cakes.
I share this because this is part of real estate. You might not move somewhere because of the ice cream, but the area you move to matters. State College real estate is a unique place as some of the points above attract primary residents, secondary home owners and investors. That means I have more opportunity to serve others in building healthy homes and make profitable investments. We are… thankful to call Happy Valley home.
